Just as Peter and Gillian are about to finalize their adoption of Ned, Evie reappears in his life. Meanwhile, Maxine is working with a young girl eager to find a home before she turns 18, while also trying to help a 12-year-old boy who stubbornly refuses adoption, convinced that his birth mother will eventually return for him.
