Sherlock and Joan find themselves questioning their understanding of Shinwell as they delve into the possibility that he might have evaded justice for the unsolved murder of his friend, another gang member. Meanwhile, their newest case has them searching for a treasure map said to point to a stash of pirate gold concealed somewhere in New York City.
