S3E9 The Honeymoon's Over
When Lester's cousin and his wife visit the Jenkins, Mary boasts about their seemingly perfect relationship, claiming they never argue and still act like newlyweds after five years. However, when Sherry confides in Mary, she admits that Ed is suffocating her with his overprotectiveness, and she plans to leave him that night. After Sherry departs, Ed falls into a deep depression, leaving the Jenkins and their neighbors powerless to lift his spirits. Ultimately, Sherry decides to return, and Mary advises Ed on how to communicate better and be less controlling. In the end, Sherry and Ed reconcile, each taking the other's feelings into account.
