Episode Overview
Charley and Floyd cause the Cannonball to derail while navigating Deadman's Curve, mistakenly believing the incident was due to Floyd’s excessive removal of railroad ties to fuel the engine. Uncle Joe contacts the C&FW Railroad, which agrees to cover the $300 insurance deductible for repairs. However, when Homer Bedloe arrives, he discovers that the accident was due to negligence from a railroad worker, meaning the insurance won't pay out. In response, Kate devises a scheme to have local residents invest in the train, becoming stockholders. As the Hooterville locals implement drastic changes, the train crew threatens to resign. Ultimately, Kate finds a solution that reimburses everyone and reinstates Charley and Floyd.
