On January 20, 1992, Air Inter Flight 148 tragically crashes into a peak in the Vosges Mountains while attempting to circle for a landing at Strasbourg Airport, resulting in the death of 87 individuals. The disaster was attributed to a programming error in the plane's autopilot, which, when coupled with an unexpected shift in wind, led to an unforeseen and rapid descent of the aircraft.
