On March 29, 2001, a chartered business jet from Avjet tragically crashed into a hillside while nearing its landing at Aspen/Pitkin County Airport in Colorado, resulting in the deaths of all 18 individuals aboard. The investigation revealed that the accident stemmed from the pilots descending too early, falling below the established minimum descent altitude.
