On December 19, 1997, SilkAir Flight 185, destined for Singapore, tragically plummets into the Musi River in Indonesia after a sudden descent from cruising altitude, resulting in the loss of all 104 individuals on board. The incident's cause sparked controversy: a US probe labeled it a murder-suicide by the pilot, while Indonesian officials remained undecided. Ultimately, a Los Angeles court attributed the disaster to a malfunction in the servo valve.
