Blaketon enters the race for a local election, facing off against Tom Drabble, a friend of Grengrass. Meanwhile, Honor Gable, a novelist known for her romantic stories, moves into a nearby house for six months to work on her latest book, but she quickly becomes intrigued by Bradley instead. Additionally, a group of young offenders is assigned to clean the local river as part of their rehabilitation.
