Re-l faces challenges in persuading her colleagues about her experiences with the creatures known as Proxies. As a result, she is taken off the case and discovers that Iggy has had his memories of recent occurrences wiped clean. At the same time, Vincent finds himself in a precarious situation, evading both a Proxy and the local authorities chasing after him.
