Max Cassidy disappears after leaving a voicemail for his wife, sending both Jack and Ann into a panic as they search for him. During the investigation, Jack uncovers that Max was involved in an affair and had become entangled in a case far beyond his control, particularly after the murder of his partner, Jimmy, whom Max believed was too inexperienced for undercover missions. As the team races against time to locate Max, both Jack and Ann brace themselves for the worst.
