During "Take Your Daughter to Work Day," Lauren realizes how fortunate she is while spending the afternoon with Maxine. Meanwhile, Rebecca suffers a severe injury after collapsing during a seizure, and Kyle continues to drink excessively. Stu comforts Amy, assuring her that she will always be a part of his life, despite her less-than-stellar first meeting with his outspoken mother. Bruce faces challenges trying to get a boy off probation. After pleading with Lily to bring Heather back, Kyle is taken aback when she declines. Heather and Zola hint to their partners that they are thinking about romance.
