Lindsay's move to Chicago leaves Ryan feeling devastated, while Caleb is left uncertain about his feelings. To help Ryan cope, Seth, Summer, and Marissa invite him to the mall for some distraction, with Caleb joining in to express his own frustrations. Meanwhile, Sandy is trying to reconcile with Kirsten by searching for her wedding ring or planning a memorable gesture reminiscent of his proposal. On another front, Alex discovers that Marissa may not share the same feelings she initially had for her. As Kirsten and Julie reach out to an editor at Newport Living, Julie's past from Riverside unexpectedly resurfaces.
