Episode Overview

Sixteen-year-old Lauren Westley suffers a devastating loss when she loses her unborn child after a brutal beating. Her father believes she was raped, which directs detectives to the baby's father. However, it soon becomes clear that Lauren played an active role in the situation, as she and her boyfriend had resorted to desperate measures after the abortion clinic repeatedly postponed her appointment. Meanwhile, Novak faces a challenging situation in her own office as she and Branch clash over how to handle the case against Wayne Mortens, Lauren’s boyfriend.
