Markowitz receives a surprise visit from Barry Glassman, an old acquaintance who confesses he's living under the alias Jay Ellison, sought after for his involvement in a 1968 prison escape plan for a Black Panther member. He asks Markowitz for assistance in turning himself in. Meanwhile, Morales is advocating for a couple who smoke marijuana and are suing the school district for allegedly pressuring their daughter to report them. Denise's aspirations for acting soar after a casting director’s encouragement, while Benny starts to develop feelings for her, neglecting Rosalie, who wants to take their relationship to the next level.
