Kenny pressures Valerie to end her pregnancy, offering her $100,000 for the procedure. When he misses a meeting to hand over the money, she shows up at his confused wife's door with diapers. Furious, Kenny finally sends Valerie her check. Meanwhile, firefighter Cliff assists with the Alphas' haunted house, helping a young boy face his fears. He later enjoys a date with Donna at the After Dark. Steve is upset when Clare opts to attend a Halloween concert with arrogant Phi Beta Kappa member Dick Harrison. In an attempt to make Clare jealous, he hires an escort, but Clare mistakenly believes the woman is a prostitute after discovering Steve paid her. Steve rejects Clare's suggestion of an open relationship. Brandon and Tracy share some time together at the club, despite Brandon's reluctance to start another office romance. After giving her a ride home, he kisses her. David, however, declines to spend the weekend at his grandparents' Palm Springs home, leading to a call from his father.
