Jim receives a job promotion that requires him to relocate back to Minneapolis. Initially, he plans to turn it down to honor his family's wishes, but when his boss offers to double his salary, he reconsiders. Meanwhile, Steve distances himself from Brandon, and Brenda feels overlooked by Kelly and Donna. Dylan proposes a long-distance relationship, but Brenda chooses to end things. Andrea hopes to be intimate with Brandon before his departure, and he agrees, but their plans are interrupted when Kelly throws a farewell party at the Peach Pit. Overwhelmed by his new role and the support from his kids' friends, Jim ultimately decides against the promotion. Brenda confides in Dylan that she might be pregnant.
