Syd is haunted by a buried childhood memory of her late mother, Lynda, who had an affair with a neighbor, as she cares for an elderly woman on the brink of death, desperate to reunite with her estranged daughter. Meanwhile, Joanie impersonates Syd at a pharmaceutical expo to secure vital medication samples but finds herself in jail alongside a group of sex workers. Robbie unwittingly engages in a high-stakes poker game with mobsters, while Jim frantically searches his home to catch a mischievous mouse that keeps eluding him.
