As Kate returns home for the holidays, her evolving romance with John brings Lauren joy. However, Lauren remains unaware of her daughter's feelings of insecurity about their new family dynamics, and the lengths Kate might go to create tension between her and John. Meanwhile, Amy encounters Dominic, an eccentric client whose doctor has suggested he see a prostitute to build his sexual confidence.
