Adam attempts to see the silver lining in Howard Mead, a gifted troubadour who consistently flouts the law. This episode marks the dramatic introduction of singer/songwriter Hoyt Axton. It also serves as the final episode featuring Pernell Roberts, although he still appears in the next two episodes, which were produced earlier but aired later.
