A diverse group of parents shows up to visit their children both at home and at work. J.D.'s father, a sociable but lonely divorcee, struggles to fit in with the younger crowd. Meanwhile, Elliot is embarrassed by her pretentious parents, whose snobbishness leaves her disheartened. Turk feels uneasy witnessing the growing friendship between his girlfriend Carla and his outspoken mother. Yet, the most irritating parent of all is the janitor's father, who adds to the chaos of the day.
