Charlie feels powerless to prevent Tom from drinking excessively. Garth reveals to Pat his desire for her demise, showing no concern about the consequences. Mary pays a visit to the bandaged accident victim, discovering that Martha is now working as a hospital "Gray Lady." Loretta assures Mac that she's only leading Lou on, but tensions rise when a diner patron points out her lack of interest in Lou. While Loretta and Mac share an intimate moment in Mac's truck, a drunken Tom stumbles into the diner and collapses. Lou takes the unconscious Tom to Loretta's bed. Meanwhile, Pat turns the tables on Garth, with deadly implications.
