Veronica discovers that her friend Mac, an outsider like herself, was switched at birth with a wealthier student, prompting her to reflect on her own uncertainties regarding her biological father. At the same time, a serial killer has returned to Neptune, pushing Sheriff Lamb to reluctantly team up with Keith under strained circumstances. Later, Veronica uses her charm to flirt with an attractive new rookie at the sheriff's department in hopes of gathering more details about the investigation into Lilly's murder.
