Andy Gleason, John’s original partner on the police force, is succumbing to leukemia that resulted from a bullet wound inflicted by an unknown assailant. In his fragile state, he implores John to track down the person responsible for his suffering. As John delves into the investigation, he encounters the Russian Mafia, all while reflecting on his early days as a detective.
