After the McCoys take the life of Anse's younger brother, the Hatfields set out for vengeance. As tensions escalate, friends, neighbors, and outside influences become entangled in the feud, leading to intense conflict between the Hatfields and McCoys. Their bitter rivalry pushes both West Virginia and Kentucky to the edge of civil unrest.
