Bat receives a pressing telegram promising a hefty paycheck and heads to a secluded ranch in Texas to manage a herd of 2,000 cattle bound for Abilene. Upon his arrival, he discovers that the Grant family has mistaken him for a hired assassin, leading to dire consequences for him.
