Episode Overview

The tale opens with a young boy named Gon, who dreams of becoming a hunter like his father, Ging. After Ging disappears, he leaves Gon in the care of his aunt Mito. To demonstrate his skills and qualify for the hunter exam, Gon catches the infamous "Lord of the Lake," a local monster fish. Although Mito hesitates to let Gon embark on this journey, she ultimately gives in to his strong desire to learn why his father abandoned him and to pursue his passion for hunting.
