Barnaby finds himself in a harrowing situation when he is compelled to shoot and kill a boy his own age who has taken a woman and her daughters hostage. Although he is exonerated of any guilt, he struggles with the haunting weight of his actions. Compounding his distress, the judge insists that he must break the news to the boy's mother, leaving Barnaby grappling with both his conscience and the emotional fallout of that tragic day.
