Bridie wrongly accuses Jonesy of murder and goes as far as to fabricate evidence against him. When the truth comes to light, attention turns to her, leading to her arrest. However, Tess believes in Bridie's innocence and manages to convince a hesitant Jonesy to help her uncover the true culprit. Ironically, as Tess digs deeper to clear her sister's name, she uncovers a much darker secret—Bridie has been operating a brothel with enslaved women. Tess faces a heart-wrenching decision, ultimately coming to terms with her sister's true nature.
