Episode Overview

When Adam Gardner, a cookie entrepreneur from Beverly Hills, discovers his girlfriend dead in his hot tub, the evidence against him seems damning, especially with an eyewitness implicating him. Facing pressure from his corporate lawyers to accept a guilty plea, Adam turns to Ben Matlock for defense. Matlock is convinced of Adam's innocence, but as he digs deeper into the victim's background, he uncovers a troubling motive for Adam. Things take a twist when he finds love letters exchanged between the victim and Josh Sinclair, who is believed to be Adam's closest friend.
