Grissom and his team feel disheartened when they discover a pool of blood while looking into the case of a missing high school basketball player and his cheerleader girlfriend. Grissom's lighthearted remark about the couple possibly eloping to Mexico is quickly overshadowed by the evidence of blood drops found near Ryan's empty parking space at the school. As they uncover a letterman jacket and a cheerleading sweater in the field house, along with a pool of Ryan's blood nearby, the team scrambles to piece together what happened.
