When an electronic talking scale informs Garfield that he’s gained too much weight, Jon and Liz decide it’s time for a change. They put him on a strict diet and insist that he start exercising regularly. Garfield, however, is less than enthusiastic about this new regimen, leading to a series of comedic attempts to avoid the healthy lifestyle his owners are enforcing.
