Episode Overview
Throughout the summer, P.J., the principal, has been trying to reach Mark, leaving him several messages. Geneva believes he should return the calls, but Mark is reluctant to contact his boss during vacation. Once back at school, he tries to dodge P.J., but eventually runs into her. P.J. reveals that she intended to offer him the head coach position, which initially thrills Mark, but his excitement quickly fades when she mentions that, due to his silence, the job has gone to someone else. However, she suggests that if he impresses the new head coach, he might snag an assistant position instead. After history class, Coach Corley approaches Mark for some advice and proposes the assistant coach role, but Mark turns it down. Later, Coach Corley visits Mark at home, and they agree that Mark will come to the gym on Monday to discuss further.
