Episode Overview
Anna's father, Tommy, interrupts her marriage to Miguel, adamantly opposing their union despite Anna's declaration of love for him and their six-month-old child. He refuses to accept Miguel, mainly due to his gang ties, and demands the young couple stay apart. Meanwhile, Andrew and Rafael from the church encourage Miguel to join a community support program for teenage fathers, but he only agrees to avoid police scrutiny. Determined to earn Tommy's respect through gang involvement, Miguel learns from Gonzo, the volatile gang leader, about a plan to eliminate a rival. When he returns home, he finds his mother, Lorena, has given away his room to Monica, a church volunteer, deepening his isolation from those who care. Lorena expresses her disappointment in Miguel's choices to Monica, yearning for the son he used to be.
