A rogue storm front is bearing down on Everest, and the window for a summit push is shutting fast. Most climbers turn back as the storm approaches, but former college football player John Golden and his longtime climbing partner John Shea decide it's now or never. Years ago, a freak football accident shattered Golden's knee, and he now walks on a surgically rebuilt joint. With each step, he drives himself and that knee nearer to the breaking point.
