Episode Overview

Deed finds himself presiding over a difficult case involving Jo's boyfriend, Marc Thompson. Marc wishes to respect a do-not-resuscitate order for a two-year-old patient with a failing heart who is currently in a coma, but the child's parents are opposed to this decision. Simultaneously, Deed must deliver a sentence for a young thief, who tragically dies while in custody. These cases stir up painful memories from Deed's own troubled childhood, leaving him frustrated and eager for confrontation. Tensions escalate as he argues with Jo, who reveals her intention to marry Marc.
