Deed is in charge of investigating the death of a young man at a construction site, where the influential company owner is attempting to shift the blame onto his workers. Despite Deed's commitment to uncovering the truth, her efforts are met with resistance from the Lord Chancellor's department. Meanwhile, Charlie Deed finds herself in trouble after she 'rescues' a dog from a lab for the sake of animal rights. With law enforcement closing in on her, Charlie cleverly leaves the dog with Deed, prompting a blackmail scheme to unfold.
