In a quaint town, Mort Lynch, a junk dealer running for mayor, hires Barry Davis, a college dropout, due to his past friendship with Barry's uncle. Their connection is strained, and tensions rise when Mort is brutally attacked with a monkey wrench, which is later discovered in Barry's car, making him the prime suspect in the investigation.
