Major Frank Lessing, a payroll officer stationed at an Army base, is discovered dead, leading to Sgt. Joseph Dexter being accused of the murder. The investigation revolves around a payroll heist that took place in the Philippines years earlier. Evidence begins to surface that suggests some of the stolen cash from that robbery is reappearing on the base, complicating the case further.
