S1E1 Childhood's End

Four young women join the Women's Land Army for their own unique reasons: patriotic Joyce aims to contribute to the war effort, stubborn Nancy feels forced into it, and practical Annie signs up to help her younger sister Bea flee their abusive father. Bea, seeking independence from her sister's watchful eye, becomes captivated by a dashing GI, Cal Gillespie. Meanwhile, at a dance, Nancy attempts to get closer to Lord Hoxley, hoping to improve her circumstances.
