With Wei Xing’s skilled crossbowmen standing in their way, Zheng’s troops and the mountain villagers separate into smaller groups. Xin joins a reduced contingent aiming to track down the usurper Cheng Jiao within the palace. However, they soon find their path obstructed by the lethal assassin Zuo Ci and his followers.
