At the Royal v Ashfordly General rugby game, disaster unfolds when Cheriton leaps to score a try, only to be overwhelmed by rival players. As the severity of his injuries becomes clear, Ormerod hurries to assist him, but despite his efforts, Cheriton tragically passes away on the field. In a separate incident, Alun finds himself in a car crash caused by a man who has just had a stroke. Additionally, student nurse Samantha Beaumont struggles to gain favor with Matron and Sister Brigid after carelessly using pink sheets on the ward beds.
