Jim finds himself immersed in the fiercely competitive realm of Florida high school football as the tight-knit community of Pahokee gears up for the much-anticipated "Muck Bowl." This event garners national interest due to the numerous NFL players hailing from the region who have participated in it. Just days before the showdown, the lifeless body of a businessman is discovered in a sugar cane field, prompting Longworth to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man's death and uncover who might have had a motive to kill him.
