A.D. Skinner assigns Mulder to look into a corpse that has surfaced in a New Jersey sewer after being carried in by the ocean. Initially, Mulder thinks this seemingly routine task is a form of punishment. However, Skinner reveals that what Mulder uncovers is, in fact, a genuine X-File.
