Dad finishes reading the final chapter of his memoir. The summer days on the island have come to an end, and autumn storms are approaching. Moominpapa lends a hand to Fredriksen as they prepare the house for winter. Meanwhile, Rodschuret and his young wife arrive seeking shelter, having lost their home to the storm.
