Marlon becomes envious when Monique pretends to be married to Shawn to impress her college rival, Otis Campbell. When Otis invites the "couple" to a trendy Moroccan restaurant, Marlon sneaks in and persuades Shawn to leave, eager to express his true feelings for Monique. Monique is taken aback by Marlon's unexpected arrival and fears he will expose her ruse to Otis. However, as Marlon shares his heartfelt emotions, Monique feels embarrassed yet ultimately empowered to send Otis packing, recognizing Marlon's authenticity. In the end, she agrees to a friendship with him.
