Monster Minds are secretly placed on the Pride to taint the water supply. When the contaminated water is ejected, Herc is compelled to land the Pride to look for a new water source and a Cobalt-49 crystal that can fix the guidance system, which has been damaged by the vines. Unbeknownst to them, this is a scheme orchestrated by Saw Boss.
