Following the brutal massacre at the Battle of Culloden in 1746, Duncan MacLeod is consumed by a burning desire for revenge against the English who devastated his homeland. Immortal Steven Keane arrives, seeking retribution for MacLeod's violent past. Amanda encourages MacLeod to eliminate Keane once and for all, but deep down, MacLeod recognizes the truth in Keane’s accusations—he is indeed a murderer. Faced with his own conscience, MacLeod realizes that Keane’s judgment mirrors the harsh assessments he has made of others throughout his long life.
