Captain Ulysses S. Grant, a well-known figure, arrives in the mountains and shares his plans to write a book. He discusses his struggles with the idea of living in such a rugged environment and surviving independently. Intrigued, Adams offers to teach him some skills he's picked up over the years, hoping to help Grant gain a better understanding of mountain life.
