Brandon and Kelly head off to a weekend retreat, where the chancellor's teenage daughter, Clare, finds herself infatuated with Brandon. He opens up to Kelly about his affair with Lucinda, and they both realize they can no longer pretend after sharing an intense kiss. Meanwhile, Lucinda invites Dylan over to watch her film and makes a move on him. Donna and Brenda stumble upon a stray dog they name Rocky, who they discover has escaped from the university's research lab, making them hesitant to return him. Brenda becomes interested in an animal rights group protesting the lab, while Andrea, an employee there, defends the lab's work on medical advancements and ultimately returns Rocky to Donna. Andrea is livid when Steve allows Muntz to use her room for a secret meeting with his girlfriend, fearing expulsion, but Steve tries to make things right by spending the night with her.
