Joan makes the bold decision to launch her own restaurant. However, William feels slighted when he learns about it from two junior partners instead of Joan herself. In a confrontation, Joan criticizes William for quickly rekindling his romance with Monica after professing feelings for her. Their argument escalates, leading them to sever their friendship. After discovering an ideal location for her restaurant, Joan realizes she lacks the funds to secure it. Toni proposes that she seek an investor and attempts to broker a business truce with William, who has the financial means to help. Meanwhile, Joan and Maya grow increasingly worried about Lynn, who has taken to performing on the streets as a robot.
